KING - 20x16” acrylic on canvas
Beauty 12x24 acrylic on canvas
This painting celebrates the exquisite elegance and tranquil demeanor of a strong animal. Against a backdrop of smoky shadows, I aimed to evoke mystery and intrigue, inviting viewers to contemplate the delicate yet powerful essence of the subject. With its stand-alone beauty, this creature commands admiration and praise, embodying the serene grace found within nature's most majestic creations.
Moonlit Run
In this piece, my aim was to channel absolute attention onto the majestic horse, employing a stark black backdrop to emphasize its presence. Through the interplay of intense highlights tracing the contours of its neck and back, accentuated by subtle shades of purples and blues, I sought to evoke a serene ambiance reminiscent of moonlit nights. By juxtaposing light and shadow in this manner, I aimed to capture the horse's grace and beauty, inviting viewers into a tranquil realm where the equine form emerges as the focal point, bathed in the ethereal glow of moonlight.
In "Quiet Departure," I capture a whimsical yet tense moment in the natural world. A raccoon, having slumbered in a hollowed-out branch of a fallen tree, is caught off guard when a grizzly bear decides to take an afternoon nap in the same spot. The raccoon, now in a precarious situation, must quietly sneak away without disturbing the bear. Adding to the scene's tension, a curious mouse stands on its hind feet, trying to peek over the log, oblivious to the danger it faces.
This piece illustrates the delicate balance and unexpected interactions that occur in nature. Through my art, I aim to bring viewers into these intricate moments, highlighting the interconnectedness and subtle dynamics of wildlife. "Quiet Departure" is a testament to the small, profound stories that unfold in the wild, evoking a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world's delicate harmony. My goal is to draw attention to these moments, encouraging a deeper connection and respect for the environments we share with such remarkable creatures.
A Stolen Kill
"A Stolen Kill" portrays the ruthless survival dynamics of the animal kingdom. Witness a lioness, apex predator, thwarted by hungry hyenas, revealing the fierce competition for sustenance. This scene underscores nature's delicate power balance, where even the mightiest succumb to hunger's grasp. Through empathy and awareness, I illuminate the harsh realities of wildlife, where each meal is a life-or-death struggle.
Latch & Lizard - 14x11
This painting juxtaposes the vibrant life of a green anole lizard with the weathered charm of a rusted barn door hook latch. The lizard, scaling the old latch, stands out against the rich, stained wood, which bears the marks of time through chipping paint and layers of rust. The contrast between the lizard’s vivid green scales and the door’s textured, aged surface accentuates the harmony between nature and decay. Through this composition, I explore how the resilience of life persists alongside human-made relics, celebrating the intricate beauty found in both natural and weathered elements coexisting in a single frame.
Black Horse
In this piece, I concentrated on capturing the intricate details surrounding the eye—the focal point where the essence of the painting resides. The eye serves as a gateway, drawing viewers into the captivating simplicity of the horse's visage. Against a backdrop of shadows, the explosion of sunlight imbues the scene with vibrant hues, creating a harmonious balance of light and dark. Through this interplay of color and contrast, I aimed to convey the captivating beauty and soulful depth found within the gaze of the horse, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in its timeless allure.

Song Bird Series
The “Songbird Series” reflects my love of nature in these little creatures. I love to sit outside on a summer morning and drink my coffee watching all the birds visit my yard and the feeders. It brings me such peace and tranquility and helps ground me each time. I wanted to share this feeling in a series of songbirds from around the world and bring that tranquility to your home by highlighting just a few of these beautiful birds that intrigue me.
Free Spirit of Black Tusk
This is a memorial painting done for the brother of a professional skier who passed in 1997.
Lauren's Ride
The High Life
The iconic Marilyn Monroe with her sultry look and magnificent beauty is brought back to life in a modern depiction, where you don’t have to hide to have a toke. Even though Marilyn was known to smoke cigarettes and is reported to partake in casual marijuana smoking, many to this day refuse to believe this classic beauty could philander with such a substance
In God's Hands
This was a beautiful commission to have had the pleasure to do. A very emotional process with an emotional back story.

This is Maka, a woman who empowers strength, courage, independence and a majestic beauty. I wanted to make the connection of all of those attributes with her roots. The lioness is her higher power and guardian. Every woman possesses these qualities, some of us just need to be reminded.

Changing Seasons
Changing Seasons - 24x36” Acrylic on canvas.
I love the colours of fall and fell in love with the reference photo from Denis Bresolin. This depicts what our fall looks like around the Lake Superior shoreline. The beauty lies in the vibrancy of colours, the effects of the northern winds, and the chill that sets in before the snow flies.

48x30” acrylic on canvas
Done for a very old friend of mine that I hadn’t seen since high school. She lived in the Arctic for a few years and this was a photo reference she took. She had always wanted to do something with it and decided on a painting of it. It has a lot of meaning and memories to her. It was my pleasure.

Broken Castles
"BROKEN CASTLES" - 24x36" Acrylic on canvas
This Is an exaggerated look at how covid has affected so many people around the globe. With all the lockdowns imposed on us for the sake of safety, the losses are unsurmountable. Many have suffered losses of homes and assets, marriages have fallen apart, mental health issues are at its highest and of course the loss of loved ones to the disease. This depicts an overall look at the result, the life some used to know and have, all falling to ruin, leaving them to deal with the loneliness and loss. She clutches onto the last thing that connects her to her past life, a diamond necklace, symbolic of what was once a good life.

Birch Trees in Love
Inspired by the buyer’s love for birch trees, and their memory of younger years, carving their initials in one. I’ve been lead to a birch forest kissed by the sun, the tranquility of the setting sun casting shadows over the snow. Even a weathered carcass half buried, gave the new owners all the aspects they were looking for.
Blowing Softly
They say military children are like dandelions. They can put down roots almost anywhere. They are impossible to destroy. They adapt easily and can survive nearly anywhere. Military children bloom everywhere the wind carries them and they stand ready to fly into breezes to take them into new adventures, new lands and new friends.

Hannah
“Hanna” was a commission for a woman’s sister to show her beauty and her love for her African heritage. The beautiful headdress displays wonderfully against the dark background and is accented by her makeup.

A commission done for an old friend. These are all the things he loves…his critters who feed from his hands everyday and his Harley. The simple things in life matter and make our world a better place.
Alluring

I love the beach and the warmth of the sun. The sounds of the waves and the sea birds around you that tie in the whole experience of being near the water. It brings me back to earlier days and the free, alluring feeling we have as younger adults.

Stormy Raven
I love ravens, they’re such fascinating birds. They are kind of stereotyped, birds of ghostly tales and many a creepy mansions. So I used that to my advantage in this lightening storm, hopefully giving the on looker a sense of mystery.

Frustration!
Frustration! - 16x40
This was supposed to be a beautiful morning on a lagoon with the sun kissing the trees and reflecting off the water. Sounds lovely right? Not! After scrapping my attempts twice to make that beauty of a picture, I had a hissy fit and started slapping on whatever paint I had on my palette with a putty scrapper in big, anguished strokes. By the time I was done, I was actually in a happy place :) with my results. Go figure. Frustration produced results! LOL.
